Karan Yash Johar, born on May 25, 1972, in Mumbai, India, is a prominent figure in the Indian film industry, renowned for his work as a filmmaker, producer, and television host.

He is the son of the late Yash Johar, the founder of Dharma Productions, a company Karan now leads.

Johar made his directorial debut with the immensely successful romantic comedy-drama Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998, earning accolades, including the Filmfare Awards for Best Director and Best Screenplay.
