He is best known as the modern pioneer of the social organizational together with applied psychology. He is often known as founder of the social psychology and the first person to study organizational development and group dynamics.

Kurt was born on September 9, 1890, into a Jewish family in Mogilno, Poland.

He was one of the four kids born in this middle-class family. In 1905, this family moved to Berlin and in 1909, Kurt enrolled at the University of Freidburg to study medicine.
